Viticut: a compact FACA roller for vineyards
The Viticut is a cover crop roller specifically designed for vineyards, raised-bed crops and grass strips. Compact, lightweight and aggressive, it allows the biomass to be crushed, flattened or shredded while maintaining a no-soil-disturbance approach.
Thanks to its interchangeable sprocket system and mechanical chain transmission, the level of action can be adapted depending on the type of cover crop and the agronomic strategy.
Available widths
In 10 cm increments to adapt to vineyard rows and specialty crops.
Mechanical transmission
A simple and robust transmission between the two rollers.
Working levels
Light crushing, aggressive action or full shredding depending on the chosen configuration.
Biomass action
Acts on vegetation without disturbing or working the soil.
A cover crop roller designed for vineyards and specialized covers
The Viticut is a FACA roller designed for vineyard cover crops, raised-bed crops and grass strips.
It follows the same principles as the Biola, in a more compact version adapted to narrower working widths and specialized uses.
Its operation allows the biomass to be crushed, flattened or shredded depending on the selected configuration, while maintaining a no-soil-disturbance approach.
Thanks to interchangeable sprockets, the Viticut can produce a light mulch to maintain ground cover, or a much more aggressive action to significantly reduce biomass before another implement pass or crop establishment.

Key strengths of the Viticut
A compact FACA roller designed for vineyards, specialty crops and narrow cover crop strips.
Custom width
Available from 50 cm to 3 m, adjustable in 10 cm increments depending on requirements.
Lightweight and aggressive
Highly aggressive action on biomass with a compact and lightweight implement.
Robust transmission
Rollers synchronized by chains and sprockets for simple and efficient operation.
Adjustable fiber breaking
Possibility to adapt the level of action depending on the cover crop and cropping strategy.
A simple and efficient design
The Viticut operates on the same principle as the Biola: a main roller drives a chopping roller through a chain and sprocket transmission.
This system allows the plant to be processed while standing, without relying on counter-pressure from the soil. This reduces contact with soil and stones while maintaining strong aggressiveness on the vegetation.
Three working levels depending on sprockets
By changing the sprockets, the operator can choose between light fiber breaking, aggressive fiber breaking or complete shredding, depending on the biomass level and the desired result.
This modularity allows the implement to be adapted to the type of cover crop, the amount of vegetation present and the agronomic strategy in place.

Viticut sprocket configurations
The choice of gear ratio allows the level of fiber breaking or shredding to be adapted depending on the type of cover crop, biomass density and the agronomic result sought.
Light fiber breaking
The chopping roller rotates 3.97 times faster than the main roller.
Expected result Moderate work to maintain a protective mulch cover on the soil.
Recommended uses Soil mulching, low-density cover crops, maintaining soil cover, direct seeding.
Aggressive fiber breaking
The chopping roller rotates 5.57 times faster than the main roller.
Expected result Stronger biomass reduction with a more pronounced effect on the cover crop.
Recommended uses Higher-density cover crops, biomass reduction, direct seeding systems.
Complete shredding
The chopping roller rotates 7.16 times faster than the main roller.
Expected result Maximum action on biomass for very intensive shredding.
Recommended uses High-density cover crops, stubble, stalks, regrowth, grass, fallow land, pasture residues, combined work with other implements.
Viticut according to your cover crop strategy
A versatile implement for managing biomass in vineyards, raised-bed crops and grassed strips.
Maintain a protective mulch
Viticut can create light fiber breaking to lay the cover crop down while maintaining sufficient biomass on the soil surface.
Strongly reduce biomass
With a more aggressive configuration, it helps reduce vegetation volume before crop operations or the use of another implement.
Adapt to different cover crops
Can be used on grasses, legumes, dense or lighter cover crops, and also on grassed strips.
